Vintage No. 02: Best of Eureka Springs

Welcome to the monthly drop of my personal favorite spots in Northwest Arkansas. From wine bars to the best patios and brunch spots, these are the places I frequent with my people. Enjoy!
This month we're heading to Eureka Springs. It's about an hour from Bentonville, and we slip away several times a year... especially in October, when the whole town leans into spooky season. Here are my favorites:
Where to Stay
- The Cinnamon Valley: we stay here several times a year, and it is FANTASTIC. Very private and secluded, and worth every mile of the drive (four-wheel drive is your friend 🙂).
- Loblolly Pines: another favorite, and we know and love the owners. Very 1950s vibe with Pendleton gear, plus a camp shop worth checking out. Convenient, fun and always a great experience.
Brunch
- Mud Street Cafe: either location works, but the Annex has views of the street below and serves breakfast later in the day.
Lunch
- La Familia: a solid, dive-y Mexican spot.
- Local Flavor: excellent for brunch, lunch or dinner. It's compact, so there's usually a wait.
- The Spring: elevated above the street, with great burgers for a casual lunch or dinner.
Drinks
- Basin Park Hotel: head up to the second-floor balcony for great street views and people watching, then check out the game room.
- The New Orleans Hotel: the basement bar is a fun vibe.
Dinner
- Grotto: excellent food, and probably our favorite spot in town. Call for reservations and ask to sit by the grotto.
- Le Stick Nouveau: truly unique: a prix fixe menu served only on weekend nights at a set time, with a menu that changes monthly. GREAT.
- Rogue's Manor: we love the bar side, next to the grotto. It can be hit or miss, but the vibe is always fun.
For reference: Ermilio's is where most people go in Eureka, but it isn't our favorite. It's Italian, with an attic bar for drinks while you wait (step out onto the balcony when it gets crowded). Expect a long wait.
On my list to visit:
- Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse, a candlelit steakhouse built around an 1864 log cabin a few miles outside of town, known for its prime rib.
- The Stonehouse, a cozy wine bar with cheese and charcuterie boards, a courtyard and live music.
